Field students publish book on ice storm
May 3, 2007

Field Elementary School students will hold a book signing at Brentwood Library from noon-3 p.m. Saturday, May 5, for a book called “LIGHTS OUT! Hotels, Fires, Generators and Grandma’s House.

The book consists of written and artistic descriptions of students’ experiences during the January ice storm. Every child from Field contributed to the 96-page book.

Glendale and Central high school students helped with material selection, editing and layout of the book, and parents provided pictures of ice storm scenes.

Advance orders of the book may be made by contacting Field Elementary School at 523-4800. Proceeds will help fund the replacement of about 1,700 trees destroyed by the storm in city parks.
