NSBA celebrates north-side student attendance
May 22, 2007

Students at Pleasant View Elementary School were recently recognized for having the best overall attendance during the first three quarters of this school year. Fremont Elementary School was recognized for having the most improved attendance rates during that same time.

Both schools were singled out during a recent celebration of attendance excellence sponsored by the North Springfield Betterment Association. More than 330 students and their parents representing 14 elementary schools were invited to the event. Students with 99-100 percent attendance and no tardiness during the three quarters were invited to the celebration.

The NSBA has hosted the celebration for 10 years. It started with five schools and has expanded to 14. The association works to improve quality in business, industry and neighborhoods on the north side of Springfield.
