Roger spent his career teaching third grade at Sunshine Elementary School; Connie taught third and sixth grade and Title I math at York, Weaver and Williams elementary schools.
She’ll miss “the day to day atmosphere of school. School is a good atmosphere. It’s safe and comfortable and our students need that.”
Roger will miss “the daily challenges of dealing with different personalities that come and go from year to year.”
The couple will retire to their house on Tablerock Lake that has long been their weekend getaway.
Other retirees plan to travel, take up hobbies, spend more time with grandchildren, teach part-time and just relax.
