2011-2012 REQUESTS

Photographing and interviewing SPS students
Springfield Public Schools complies with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act, which allows students and parents to opt out of the release of certain information about students, including personal information and photographs. The Community Relations Office has a procedure in place to identify students who cannot be photographed and interviewed due to privacy concerns. It is critical that representatives of the news media coordinate with the Community Relations Office prior to photographing or interviewing students to ensure privacy of minor students is not violated.
