District receives 15th straight unqualified audit

October 18, 2007

For the 15th consecutive year, Springfield Public Schools has received an unqualified audit, meeting all standards of governmental accounting practice, the school board learned Tuesday night. Fewer than 5 percent of Missouri school districts receive unqualified audits.

“The financial prudence is outstanding,” said Al Kirchofer Jr., President of Daniel Jones & Associates, Certified Public Accountants, which conducted the audit. “If I could give you a grade here, it’s A-plus,” he told the board.
