MAP IS Here!

Dear Parents,

The testing window for MAP and Terra Nova is April 2-April 19.

Students in grades 2-5 are taking some important state tests. Please continue to help your child by reading to and with them every night.

For the entire year we have been preparing students for readiness on the MAP and Terra Nova Tests. It is extremely important to make sure your child is at school and on time each day.

One of the best things you can do for your child to prepare for MAP and Terra Nova is to read, write, and practice math. Let students make lists, talk about books, count grocery items, play simple word games and visit a library or zoo. Let's encourage our children to do their best every chance we get!

The final quarter of the year has begun and we have a lot of fun activities planned for the next seven weeks of school. Please watch your child's newsletter for dates and important news.

Our staff parking lot is located to the east of the building. We have many parent who drop their children off in that parking lot each morning. It is fast becoming a dangerous situation for the children as staff are trying to pull in to park. Please drop your children off in the circle drive. We want ALL of our children to be safe when coming to school.

Looking ahead:

Fifth grade parents wishing their child to attend a school other than the school that serves your address must fill out a transfer request form. The transfers may be picked up in the office. The form needs to be filled out and returned to the principal of the school your child is requesting to attend. It is the responsibility of the parent/ legal guardian to send the transfer form to the requested school.

Summer school classes begin June 4
Students can continue their learning in June by enrolling in summer school classes or Artworks. Summer school will be held June 4-29. Online registration ends May 24. To register, between May 29 and May 31 call the summer school office at 523-0011. You may also register at the summer school site on June 4 but class availability may be limited.
