Welcome to Bissett Elementary!

Dear Parents,

For the entire year we have been preparing students for readiness on the MAP and Terra Nova Tests. It is extremely important to make sure you r child is at school and on time each day.

On February 9th we will have a PTA meeting. Our program will feature our Kindergarten and First Grade students. The PTA nominating Committee will be presenting nominations for our officers for next year.

Family Life Videos will be presented during February 6-10 and February 13-16. If you have any questions about the content or nature of the videos please see your child's teacher or Nurse Cindy for more information.

We had several students participate in a Math contest at McGregor Elementary on the 21st of January. What an awesome job they did! Knowianna Cortes placed 1st in Third Grade (Concepts), Danny Sewell placed 2nd in Fourth Grade (Concepts), and Mathew Gagnon placed 3rd in Fifth Grade (Concepts). They competed against several Springfield schools. We are so proud of them. Congratulations!!

Our two Volunteers of the Year are Amanda Domigan and Amanda Scott. They help out with breakfast, copies, perfect attendance lunch, the Bissett Store, and many other areas of need. We really appreciate all they do to make our school a great place to be!

Looking ahead:

Fifth grade parents wishing their child to attend a school other than the school that serves your address must fill out a transfer request form. The transfers may be picked up in the office. The form needs to be filled out and returned to the principal of the school your child is requesting to attend. It is the responsibility of the parent/ legal guardian to send the transfer form to the requested school.

It is time to submit nominees for 2012-2013 Teacher of the Year. The nomination form is easy to complete and can be submitted by anyone. The deadline to submit nominations is Friday, Feb. 10.
