School Board Meeting Summary

Sept. 18, 2007

The continued success of Springfield Public Schools requires advances in sharing student achievement with students, parents and teachers and the ability to locate and retrieve disparate data in one location. Those objectives are moving closer to reality this year as district officials pursue the purchase of an on-line student assessment package and data warehouse.

Assistant to the Superintendent Dr. Chuck Stockton gave a detailed presentation on the two systems to the School Board Tuesday night.

Data warehouse vendor proposals have been evaluated and vendor presentations are scheduled for Oct. 19 and 20. Online assessment proposals have been received and evaluations and vendor presentations will occur in the next three to four weeks. Board approval of the selected data warehouse is expected in October followed by a November approval of the online assessment system. Implementation of both solutions will be based upon vendor recommendations and staff input.
