Committee sponsors 2009 poster/essay contest
The
Missouri NEA Human Rights Committee sponsored the 2009 Martin
Luther King Jr. Poster Contest for K-12 students.
"Embracing Diversity: Living the Dream of
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.” was the theme for
the 2009 contest.
Winners
were chosen at several levels: K–1, 2–3, 4–5, 6–8 and 9–12.
U.S. Savings Bonds were awarded to first-place ($100),
second-place ($75) and third-place ($50) winners in each of
the five categories. Teachers of winning students received
gift cards in the amount of $50 (first place), $30 (second
place) and $20 (third place).
An MNEA
affiliate or school district hosted the initial contest and
submited first-, second- and third-place winners in any or all
of the five age categories (up to 15 entries per school
district).
