Human Resources Core Staff


Danny Fuller

Danny Fuller assists in the selection process of teachers and district administrators.  He is responsible for the staff evaluation process, disciplinary action, and policies within HR.  The Human Resources Department is directly responsible for all personnel functions as well as Substitute Services.

Kristin Freitag serves as a Secretary.  She assists Danny Fuller with matters regarding Springfield Public Schools  Her duties include employee name and address changes and criminal background checks.  She handles teacher of the month, teacher of the year and the Retirement Dinner.  She is responsible for preparing the District Telephone Station List and Personnel Directory.

 

Parker McKenna

Parker McKenna coordinates efforts between the Human Resources and Benefits departments in order to provide quality service to district employees.  He participates in benefit program design and restructuring and coordinates services with third party administrators and service providers.  Parker presents new employee orientations, and ensures district collaboration on various training activities.  He also performs various other functions as they relate to the district’s human resources.

 


Deanna Hawkins

Deanna Hawkins serves as an Analyst.  She assists Danny Fuller in matters relating to the staffing processes of the Springfield Public Schools. She operates the database for all certificated applications and is responsible for the paperwork related to the certificated staff. Her other duties include retirement counseling, preparation of Board material and preparation of evaluation schedules. 


Marsha Carlson
Analyst in  Human Resources

Marsha serves as an Analyst .  She  processes and maintains postings, applications, evaluations, board material and payroll records for support staff.  In addition she handles certificates, contracts and payroll records for certificated personnel.


Linda Choate

Linda serves as an Analyst.   Linda processes and maintains postings, applications, evaluations and payroll records for Custodial, Transportation, Maintenance, Food Services and Health Services.  Linda also handles all unemployment claims.

 

 Melissa Ray

 Melissa serves as a receptionist in the HR/Benefit office.  She processes employment verifications, address and name changes.  Melissa also assists the Benefit Office with special projects including open enrollment, service request, and providing benefit information to district employees.


Mary Virden
Substitute Services-Secretary

Mary Virden assigns and processes payroll for substitute teacher, teacher aides and secretaries in elementary schools, Storefront, Springfield Option Site, Solutions and Challenge Treatment Center. She keeps absence records for the elementary staff as well as the staff for Early Childhood Special Education and Parents as Teachers. She updates and maintains a current roster of qualified substitutes.

Kathy Bock assigns and processes payroll for substitute teachers, teacher aides and secretaries in middle and high schools. She reviews applications and maintains a current roster of qualified substitutes. Kathy keeps absence records for permanent employees.
