ClassroomTeacher: Kim Maddox

Kim Maddox

Hello!  My name is Kimberly Maddox and I currently teach Kindergarten at McBride elementary.  I am so excited to join the team at Harrison!    I graduated from SMSU with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education.  I am certified to teach Early Childhood, and grades 1-6.  I also received a minor in Deaf Education.  Currently I am working toward a Master’s Degree in Reading.  I have taught Kindergarten for three years.  Two of my years were at Holland Elementary, teaching in a job-share position.  I love teaching Kindergarteners!  They are so full of excitement and eager to learn.  They put a smile on my face each and every day!  I am truly amazed at the growth that takes place throughout the year.  It is so rewarding to see the learning that goes on.  My passion is education and I believe that every child can learn!

My husband, Ryan, and I have three amazing children.  Our daughter Reagan is 13 and loves basketball.  She played for Ozark Junior High and is currently playing on a Springfield team called Lady Velocity.  Lucas, 10, enjoys playing soccer, basketball and acting.  He was cast in “The Miracle Worker” at Springfield Little Theatre and plans to audition for more productions.  Our youngest is Preston and he is 6.  He keeps us laughing with his great sense of humor!  He is currently playing soccer and loving every minute of it.  Included in our family is our one year old Chihuahua, Spike.  He has been a fun adventure for us!

I am so honored to be a part of Harrison Elementary.  I look forward to this fun time of building new relationships and creating a love of learning for every child I teach.
