Classroom Teacher: Kim Taylor
Hello! My name is Kim Taylor. I’m beyond excited to be included in this great staff, community, and to be given the opportunity to begin something new and unique!
I graduated from Missouri State with a major in Elementary Education, and then later graduated from MSU with my masters in reading. I’ve been an educator for 12 years, teaching third, fourth, and fifth grades.
My family and I just made the move to Springfield! My husband Kenny and I met at Missouri State 13 years ago. We love to camp and find interesting things to do as a family. We’ve been married for 9 years and have 3 children. Aiden is 8 and is a second grader here at Harrison. He loves building and climbing. Rory is 7 and is a first grader here at Harrison. She constantly keeps us laughing with her silly comments. Mara is 3 years old and wants to be just like her older brother and sister. Then Brenna is our youngest at one. The whole family celebrates when she meets every new milestone.
I strive to learn new things in the teaching profession every year. I’ve had invaluable experiences with the Literacy Model, writing social studies curriculum, and training in eMINTS. I’ve enjoyed helping both Holland and Harrison become green schools. With the wonderful help of other teachers and staff here at Harrison, we’ve received a grant to put in a working garden for our students, and I’m looking forward to getting that started. It’s been amazing getting to know the staff, students and families here at Harrison!
