Major Instructional Goals

Reading Strategies -- These are the reading strategies your child is taught in guided reading group.
Writing Strategies -- These writing strategies are taught during Writer's Workshop.
Daily Reading Log -- Please be reading with your child every night. Reading logs are due every Friday.
Number Grid -- It is extremely important that students have a strong awareness of the number grid. Students use this as a tool during math.
SPELLING LISTS -- These are the weekly spelling words your child will learn while in first grade.
