Classroom Teachers: Mrs. Johnson and Mrs. Frey

Hello! We are Karie Johnson and Katie Frey. We are job-share partners that currently team teach at Wilson’s Creek Intermediate School. We love being able to work together to help build a classroom community that focuses on the students and their learning! Teaching is something we love to do and know that becoming parents has only made our teaching better. We want for our school children the same as we want for our own children...only the best! We feel blessed to have the opportunity to be part of this new school community.
My name is Karie Johnson and I have been an educator for over 13 years. I have had the privilege of working with students as an elementary principal, classroom teacher, and library media specialist. I graduated from Missouri State University in 2002 with my Master's Degree in Educational Administration. I am currently completing my doctoral degree at University of Missouri.
My husband, daughter, and our two dogs live in Springfield. We are fortunate to have our extended family living nearby and we love spending time with them. I also love to read mysteries, go to the movies, swim during the summer, and play at the park with my daughter, Eva.
My name is Katie Frey and I have been teaching for over eight years. My experience ranges from 1st to 6th grade. I graduated from Missouri State University in 1999 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education. Soon, in August of 2009 I will have my Master’s Degree in Educational Technology from the University of Missouri.
My wonderful husband, my two energetic children and I all live in Republic where I grew up. As a family we love spending our time at the park playing, riding bikes, and just hanging out together. When not at school, I love reading, playing golf, and working in my yard.
