Class Norms

We created these norms together on the first day of school!

1. Treat others the way you want to be treated (be nice).

2. Only run in PE and outside.

3. Listen when the teacher is talking.

4. Keep hands, feet, and supplies to yourself.

5. Do your very best.

Class Mission Statement

We created this mission statement together in September.

We are here to learn new things so that we will be ready for life. We need to be nice and responsible. We will do this by listening and trying our very best.

 

Assignments and Objectives

Reading - Students will make ask questions to better understand a text. Students will identify and describe elements of fiction, including plot, setting, and characters.

Math - Students will explore number patterns and develop readiness for multiplication and division. They will describe patterns result from skip counting by 2s, 5s, and 10s; build arithmetic skills for adding 1- and 2- digit numbers; and make frequency tables, bar graphs, and line plots.

Science - Students will investigate the relationship of the sun and earth during the day/night cycle; investigate the planets in our solar system.

Writing - Students will use the writing process to draft, revise, edit, and publish persuasive and narrative writing.
