Mr. Johnson

Greetings. Welcome to a new year. This web-site should make it easier to keep up with this class. If you are absent you can find assignments here. If you lose a worksheet you should be able to print a copy from this site. While I don't post assignments very far in advance you will be able to see what we will be doing in the immediate future. Please let me know if there is anything I can do that might make this site more useful. The only class materials that I request are a spiral notebook and something to write with.

HOMEWORK

A NOTE ON PROJECTS: The intention is for the student to pick a topic of their choice and learn as much about it as possible. Please do not spend more than 2 or 3 hours on a project unless you just really want to. The majority of your time should be spent on learning about your subject rather than writing your paper/preparing your project.

A SPECIAL NOTE: We are going to continue a new program called Mini Q's. These are two to three day lessons with a very specific subject. These lessons allow students to utilize a variety of source material to draw their own conclusion. Aside from learning history the goal is to improve critical thinking and writing skills. The lessons involve no homework other than the writing of their final five paragraph paper.
