Mr. Goodman

Hello! My name is Paul Goodman and I am the teacher in the district's Emotional Behavioral Support program for middle schoolers! This is my sixth year teaching in this type of classroom. My previous years were also in Springfield Schools, but at Springfield Options Site, on the campus of Boys' and Girls' Town.

Growing up in Wisconsin, I came to Springfield to go to college, loved it here and decided to stay! I consider Springfield MY city now and want to make a contribution by being a part of Springfield Public Schools.

Our goal in this classroom is for the students to learn the skills and behaviors necessary to be successful in the regular education environment as well as in life. In the midst of daily academics, emphasis is placed on learning appropriate behaviors in each situation and scenario that presents itself to the students, such as appropriate peer/staff interactions, appropriate conflict resolution, appropriate self-advocacy skills, etc. The students know that they need to be showing adequate progress in these areas to be considered to transition to other classrooms.
