On behalf of our executive board, Sarah Robinson, Aundrea Moore, Sandra Turner, and me, I would like to invite each and every one of you to become a member of the Portland PTA. As a member, you will be able to stay in touch with other parents, find out important information about what is happening at Portland as well as in Springfield Public Schools. There is no better way to stay involved with your student’s school experience.
Please remember no matter where your talents or interests lie, if you have 5 minutes or 5 hours, there is a place for you in the PTA! Our Executive Planning Meeting is held at 6:30pm on the second Thursday of each month. We would love to see all members there. Our first meeting will be Thursday, September 9th. YOU are the PTA and your voice and input are important!
Plan to join us at Meet & Greet Monday, August 23rd from 6-7 pm. Enjoy FREE ice cream sundaes with your friends and family and meet your teacher! One of our first PTA Challenges of the year will be a Membership Drive. Kids, get your parents to sign up for PTA and win a Pizza Party for your class! PTA will be awarding a Pizza Party to the classroom that signs up the most memberships. More information will follow.
Enjoy the rest of summer break and please consider where you can volunteer. Parents, teachers and the community together help our students remain successful.
