School Profile:
- Bingham Elementary is a neighborhood school located in east Springfield. We are located on the corner of Cherry Street and Barnes Avenue, just east of Glenstone Avenue and south of Chestnut Expressway.
- Bingham is an elementary school with a population of about 380 students. Also housed in our building are a Wonder Years (pre-K) classroom and a district special education class. Title I services are offered to assist teachers with students who may be experiencing difficulties in the areas of reading and math.
- Bingham is involved in a school/park partnership with City of Springfield. Miles Park sits adjacent to Bingham’s campus and provides additional park space for use by students and patrons of the community.
- Bingham has an educational partnership with East Grand Church of Christ. They work directly with Bingham in the planning and execution of school and community-based activities. They also sponsor a before- and after-school program utilized by Bingham families.
- Bingham has 24 certified staff and six paraprofessionals. We house a YMCA Prime Time before- and after-school program, along with bus service to the Boys & Girls Club. One day a week, students may participate in the Big Brothers/Big Sisters after-school tutoring program.
