Mission Statement: The mission of Pershing Elementary School is to provide instructional strategies to improve the academic achievement of our students in a caring environment with emphasis on communication arts and mathematics.
School Profile:
- With enrollment of 158 students, Pershing Elementary has a diverse student population – 4 percent are Asian, 5.3 percent are African-American, 1.3 percent are Hispanic and 90.5 percent are white.
- Fifth-grade students can participate in an orchestra program.
- In 2008, 38 percent of our students were eligible for free or reduced price lunches.
- Our staff averages 12.4 years of professional service, and more than 57.6 percent of our professional staff have one or more advanced degrees; 100 percent of classes are taught by highly qualified teachers.
- Pershing Elementary School (K-5) and Pershing Middle School (grades 6-8) are located in the same building.
