School Profile:
- Pleasant View is located in a rural setting just north of Springfield. We serve 238 elementary students in grades K-5 and 362 middle school students in grades 6-8. We became Springfield Public Schools’ first middle school in 1990.
- We are a school that takes pride in our high level of community support and excellent student achievement record. One-hundred percent of our teaching staff is categorized as highly qualified and two-thirds have advanced degrees.
- Besides our emphasis on academics, we offer a wide variety of extracurricular activities including athletic teams, student council, award-winning band, jazz band, orchestra and vocal groups, a theater club, a student yearbook and newspaper, NJHS, a peer mediation program and a media club.
- In 2009-2010, Pleasant View embarked on a new adventure with the building of a greenhouse and outdoor garden. Through a generous grant from the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, and a lot of great volunteer work from our families and staff, we will have a hands-on place for our students to learn about plants, gardens, and healthy eating.
