Title I Literacy Program

Literacy Program Description

The purpose of Title I Literacy Program is to improve the academic achievement of the low-achieving children. Highly qualified instructors provide children an enriched and accelerated educational program which is in addition to their regular communication arts classroom instruction. Services are delivered either individually or in small groups of 5 to 6 students (elementary) five times a week from 30 - 40 minutes per day. At the middle school level services are delivered in small groups of 10 - 15 students five times a week from 45-90 minutes.

Literacy Eligibility

Children attending a Title I school that employs a reading specialist are selected for this program using multi-critera assessments with the greatest need receiving first priority.
