History of our School

President Harry S. Truman

President Harry S. Truman

Harry S. Truman Elementary opened in September 1991.  It was named after the only United States president ever elected from the state of Missouri.  It is located on thirty-two acres just north of the city limits of Springfield.  The school colors are red and blue, and the mascot is a patriot.  The school emblem is an American flag.  Each May, the school community celebrates the end of the school year with a birthday party honoring the thirty-third president of the United States.
