Ms. Armstrong's 5th Grade Class

Mrs. ArmstrongThe mission of Mrs. Armstrong's 5th Grade class is to come to school everyday and on time and put forth our best effort to learn the things necessary to prepare us to be successful in sixth grade.

Our Class Norms are:

Mrs. Armstrong's Class is coming up with some great ideas to help us accomplish our mission statement.  We are working together and helping our partners understand our math.   In math we have been working on circle graphs and drawing conclusions from those graphs.  We have been sharing our writing and reading logs with the class, and integrating reading, writing and science in our biome projects.  They are truly putting forth effort to help themselves and their classmates learn. They have come up with ideas to help solve some problems in the class, such as class jobs, and chance coupons for those students on task and doing the right thing.  We will have a drawing on Fridays to see who the lucky winners are.  The important thing is that everyone has a chance  to win and students thought this was a fair way to keep students on task and get a reward that wasn't so costly to the teacher.  I value their ideas and try to implement them in anyway I can because I feel this makes them responsible for their behavior and that they are part of the learning process.  Also, I want to thank all the parents who helped students with the fundraiser.  We don't have a final total yet, but we should soon.  Thanks again for letting your child participate.  We will be planning our 5th Grade Graduation and Silver Dollar City trip in May.  Thanks again for your ongoing support.
